Bear Lake Day 1

Well we packed up and headed out on our annual trip to Bear Lake. We look forward to this vacation every year!

The water was SO high this year, you could look out into the water and see the trees. Last year those trees were not even close to the water!!

Day 1 we went on a hike to Bloominton Lake. This is a hidden lake that is close to the house. It is a nice, easy, wonderful hike to go on. And once you get to the lake it is just breath taking. Everyone was in good spirits and it made this hike so enjoyable.

Bloominton lake is surrounded on all sides by these gorgeous mountains. The water is actually glacier water. The snow never fully melts up here.

Because it is glacier water it is FREEZING. The true test of bravery is if you can get in and swim. I let the kids put their feet in but a select few of us won the bravery test.

Here is Jacbo trying to work up the guts to jump in. It is an all or nothing situation. There is no easing in, you just gotta jump and go for it!

This picture just does not do enough justice. Jacbo's skin was bright red!

Eric did a little fishing.....

....then had to go fishing for his reel. SUCCESS!

This is his "Brrrrr" face

My cute boy Caleb picked these wildflowers for me on our way back!
