It's been awhile

Sorry avid blog readers. It has been awhile since I last posted. Life has been super busy crazy! So there is a lot of catch up on. When you get to the bottom of the page make sure to click older post! Enjoy!

We LOVE Fall

For Family Home Evening the other night we went for a fall drive. We headed up to Bridal Veil Falls to see the waterfalls. We have lived here 7 years and have never gone here. We see it ALL the time when we drive by it, but we have never actually stopped. It is amazing! The water is freezing because it is all snow run-off.

We let the kids take off their shoes and put their feet in. They older two tried it first and said it was freezing. Caden wanted to see for himself.....he agreed!!
After the falls we went for a drive up to Sundance to see the fall leaves. They are gorgeous right now!

Then we stopped and had a picnic dinner. We had a GREAT time! We LOVE fall!

Halloween Fun

While the men went to the Priesthood session of conference us ladies and kids got together and had some Halloween fun. We made pumpkin cream cheese bars, painted masks, and painted pumpkins. The kids thought it was the best thing ever.

Somewhere over the Rainbow

We have been getting some pretty good rain the past couple weeks. One evening there was an awesome rainbow to go with it! You can't tell in this picture, but is was actually a double rainbow.

Getaway? Yes, I think I will

Brandon and I headed down to St. George for an over-niter and went to see the Little Mermaid at the Tuacahn. On the way there his poor semi lost his whole load of hay on the freeway, poor guy had a massive mess to clean up. We stopped in Scipio so Brandon could use the bathroom (I think he has the bladder of a 3 year old. haha) Scipio in a town of about, oh, 8 people. When we pulled into the gas station it had a Petting Zoo with a Zebra! Weird.
We staying in this cute little room that I got a killer deal on, those who know me know that I don't like to pay full price for most things. $140 room for $89. Yup! We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner, and headed to the show.
The show was AWESOME! The special effects were amazing and we had a GREAT time. We went to the 49th sold out show in a row. Next year they have been given the rights to do Aladdin. The tickets are already on sale, so grab em while their hot! The next morning we went swimming, and came home. Super quick trip, but so nice to get away even for just 1 night!

I may just skip this phase

I am SO awesome.....so I thought. It is that time again to potty train the next child. I was gearing him up and getting him all excited. We went to the store and he picked out dinosaur underwear and thought we would try them out. So one day we took the diaper off and on went the "gine-sore" (dinosaur) underwear. What a big boy!!
Yeah, I was done after about 20 minutes!! I did nothing with my day except plan to stay right by his side and ask if he had to go potty. Well he peed through all the dinosaur underwear and wouldn't put on any other pairs because "they weren't his". I finally got him to wear a pair only to have him poop in them, try to take them off, step in the poop and track it all over the living room. Yup, DONE! He started begging me to put his diaper back on. And I was fine with that considering the fact that I wasn't feeling well that day. We will try again later: Maybe! Who knows, the kid may be in diapers till he's 30! I may just skip this phase!

But I couldn't resist these cute cheeks in big boy underwear

The fruits (or veggies) of our labor

Despite the fact that our garden and half of our yard has been flooded out by our neighbor all year long our little garden still did pretty well. It didn't last as long as we would have liked because of all the water (our next door neighbor waters an hour every...single....day, yeah don't get me started on that) We grew tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers and we tried carrots this year! Carrots from the garden taste SO much better!! The kids have loved planting, watching it grow, and picking the veggies. The eating them part we have yet to get them to enjoy. Our favorite is zucchini that we turn into zucchini bread, and chocolate zucchini cake!

Cambree starts Pre-K

Cambree started Pre-K a couple months ago, yes I know I am behind!! She LOVES school and can't wait to go. She goes 3 times a week and she definitely thinks it is not enough. She has a cute little friend in her class that she absolutely loves. Her favorite thing to do is to write her name. I often find notes around the house with lots of letters all over it and it is signed by her. She is SO smart and I know she will do really well!

This is her buddy Blake, this year he is in the class next door.

Takin a break

About a year ago Brandon started doing his own little business on the side doing online affiliate marketing. It really took off and he kept talking about how he would love to eventually quit his day job and do this full-time. I was a little nervous about the whole idea and asked him to give it some time before he just up and quit his job in this economy. Well his day job hasn't been going that well this past year so it has been a blessing to have a little extra money on the side. A couple months ago his boss came to him and said they needed a way to bring in more money. Brandon told him about his job he has been doing on the side and his boss got all excited and decided to invest in Brandon and his business and wanted to be a part of it. So after a lot of thinking about it Brandon knew it would be a huge opportunity. So now Brandon is mostly working from home doing what he LOVES. They have hired a bunch of writers and business is "booming". I don't think I have ever seen Brandon this excited about something. I am totally supportive of his new adventure because I know how much he is loving it. While they are starting to get the business going he has been working long hours getting everything ready for the Christmas season, so when he has time to take a break and relax this is what usually happens!

Summer of Fun 2011

We accomplished a lot of fun things this summer. We didn't finish our whole list, but I think we did pretty well!
